Draken Europe is recruiting for an Islander Class Rating Instructor (CRI/E)
The Islander Class Rating Instructor (CRI/E) is responsible for ensuring that all Islander pilots are trained to the highest standards set by the Company and the CAA under existing legislation. The role is dual-purpose, with responsibility to the Head of Training to run the Islander ATO and DFO for the AOC Training Department (through the Senior Base Pilot).
Key responsibilities
• Strive for continual improvement of Draken (Europe) operational delivery by ensuring that Islander crews are trained and standardised across the full range of necessary flying skills.
• Ensure that there is a professional development pathway affording new pilots with the right aptitude the opportunity to progress from initial Type Rating through to Multi-Pilot captain, LTC and TRI/E.
• Manage the training cadre, including TRI/Es, and LTCs, to ensure that training standards meet or exceed both Civil Aviation Authority and Company requirements.
• Liaise with the Authority to ensure that customer rear crew are appropriately trained.
• Demonstrate commitment to the highest standards of safety and compliance through the support of the internal and external audit programme.
• Maintain the FR Aviation Ltd ATO by ensuring regulatory compliance and through fostering open and trusted relationships with key Civil Aviation Authority staff.
• Facilitate, review and recommend updates to the Islander syllabus and materials to effectively deliver a world-class aircrew cadre.
• Maintain effective recurrent training programmes reflecting regulatory requirements and industry best practice. This will include liaison with the CRM manager to ensure effective delivery of CRM training.
• Maintain training records in accordance with regulation and Company Operations Manuals, to ensure that pilots are qualified and current when rostered to operate.
Experience
Essential Criteria
• Flight Instructor (Unrestricted)
• Instrument Rating Instructor (IRI) OR have completed at least 800 hours of flight time under IFR, of which at least 400 hours shall be in aeroplanes.
• Multi Crew Cooperation Instructor (MCCI) OR have completed at least 500 hours as pilots in multi-pilot operations on aeroplanes OR hold or have held a TRI certificate for multi-pilot aeroplanes.
Desirable Criteria
• TRI/TRE
• MEP CRI/CRE
• Have completed at least 2,000 hours of flight time as a pilot of aeroplanes and 450 hours of flight time under IFR, of which 250 hours as an instructor
*Applicants will be required to achieve and maintain the highest level of UK national security clearance for this position.
