Draken Europe is recruiting a Safety Advisor - Fast Jet Operations to be based at either Bournemouth or Teesside International Airport.

The Safety Advisor - Fast Jet Operations is responsible to the Aviation Safety Manager and Compliance Monitoring Managers for the coordination of all Flight Operations (Fast Jet) Safety & Compliance related activities for Draken Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Management System Responsibilities

Providing Fast Jet (FJ) SME support for the effective management of operational aviation safety through the Draken Europe Safety Management System (SMS).

Providing FJ SME input to lead the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment activity specific to FJ operations. to ensure that all risks are managed to an acceptable level.

Providing FJ SME input into, and leading production of, Safety Cases.

Development of FJ specific Safety Objectives and Performance Indicators, providing analysis and feedback on FJ operational safety performance to the Safety Review Board.

Providing support in the development of FJ elements of safety manuals, procedures and other relevant documentation.

Ensure initial and timely follow up of FJ related occurrence reports and safety investigations, making recommendations to ensure effective remedial action.

Be the FJ focal point at Safety Meetings (Safety Review Boards (SRB), Safety Action Groups (SAGs), Occurrence Review Meetings (ORMs) and Daily Risk Assessment Meetings (DRAMs) in support of the Accountable Manager’s safety accountability.

Updating, controlling and managing FJ elements of AOC Change Management Register.

Updating, controlling and managing the FJ elements of AOC Hazard & Risk Register.

Compliance Responsibilities

Developing bespoke Audit checklists based upon internal documented procedures and a combination of UK CAA and other regulatory requirements.

Implementing the FJ Compliance Audit programme in which compliance with all operational procedures are reviewed at regular intervals. This includes the management and completion of audits and the production of audit reports.

Acting as lead auditor for certain audits on behalf of AOC Compliance Monitoring Manager (CMM) to ensure compliance against applicable aviation regulations, in particular UK CAA 965/2012 (Air Operations), 1178/2011(Aircrew) and CAP 632 (Permit-to-Fly Ex-Military aircraft).

Monitoring internal and external findings through to closure within agreed timeframes including assessing acceptability of root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions.

Delivering internal auditor and compliance training courses including auditing techniques and root cause analysis.

Creating and updating compliance documentation relating to the AOC, ATO, existing contracts and future bids.

Monitoring and identification of relevant legislative and regulatory changes and bringing them to the attention of the relevant Nominated Person.

Continually reviewing and improving compliance processes, systems and output.

Liaising with and assisting with facilitating audits conducted by the CAA and other third parties.

Proactive communication and feedback with the Compliance Monitoring Manager to ensure a harmonious, complete internal compliance programme is monitored and completed in a timely manner.

Providing written reports and data analysis for high level monitoring.

Updating compliance management tools (AQD, Q-Pulse, SharePoint).

Supporting the Compliance Monitoring Manager as required

Experience & Qualifications:

General

Fast Jet operational experience

Experience in the defence industry, within the aviation segment.

Safety Management

Experience of working in a Safety Management Team or Flight Safety Organisation.

Sound knowledge of Aviation Safety Management principles and practices.

Experience in the conduct of Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and production of Safety Cases

Sound working knowledge of Aviation Safety Regulations.

Compliance Monitoring

Knowledge of commercial air transport and specialised air operations.

Specific knowledge of the UK CAA, ICAO and other relevant regulatory structures and documentation.

Detailed knowledge of quality/compliance systems.

Qualified Auditor (Desirable - training available).
